California’s new gun parts laws effective January 1, 2026 (AB 1263)

AB 1263 significantly restricts online sales, requiring age/ID verification (21+), signed acknowledgment forms detailing legal use, and delivery requiring the buyer’s signature at the time of sale. These laws will require you to ship parts to an FFL to ensure proper buyer information can be verified.

Many parts will just require buyer verification and signing some legal warning forms. However, barrels MUST be purchased through an FFL and will require a background check.
